Who is Simon Bergholm?
My studies began in Helsinki in 2013, when I started at Prakticum Vocational Institute. There, I learned the basics of photography and videography, as well as introductory skills in graphic design and web design. Throughout my studies, photography and videography were my true passions, and I wanted to specialize in them in order to grow into a skilled professional.
After graduating from Prakticum in 2016, I decided to continue my specialization and began studying at Arcada University of Applied Sciences in Helsinki, where I focused on filmmaking and video editing. At Arcada, I gained valuable hands-on experience, shooting my first short films and working on a variety of projects with other media students. I also learned to use high-end camera and lighting equipment—the same kind used in Hollywood productions.
In 2021, I graduated with a Bachelor of Arts in Media and began working full-time in photography and videography. Today, I work as a freelance cinematographer and also running my own production company (Bergholm Media). I am proud to have the opportunity to live my dream, and I truly love what I do every single day.
My Business Story
I started working as an entrepreneur in 2016, just before graduating from Prakticum Vocational Institute. My first camera was a Canon 6D with a Canon 50mm f/1.8 lens. I began photographing actively in Porvoo and soon landed my very first client.
It quickly became clear to me that investing in entrepreneurship was the right path, so I began marketing myself as a photographer and videographer in the Uusimaa region. I started working with both businesses and private clients.
My passion kept driving me forward, and I wanted to learn as much as possible. There is no better feeling than being able to produce high-quality content and help clients succeed. That is the reason why I still run my business today—and why I truly love what I do.
